ห้างสรรพสินค้าเซ็นทรัล ถือเป็นห้างสรรพสินค้าอันดับหนึ่งของประเทศไทย เมื่อพิจารณาจากยอดการจำหน่าย และความนิยมของผู้บริโภค ความโดดเด่นของห้างสรรพสินค้าเซ็นทรัล ได้คัดสรรสินค้าที่มีคุณภาพและมีความหลากหลาย การจัดวางสินค้า การตกแต่งพื้นที่ภายในห้างสรรพสินค้า ซึ่งช่วยส่งเสริมบรรยากาศการจับจ่าย ตลอดจนการให้บริการของพนักงาน ปัจจุบันห้างสรรพสินค้าเซ็นทรัลมี 9 สาขา (รวมห้างสรรพสินค้าเซน) ตั้งอยู่ในกรุงเทพฯ อีก 4 สาขาในต่างจังหวัด ที่เชียงใหม่ ภูเก็ต หาดใหญ่ พัทยา พร้อมกันนี้ จะเปิดสาขาใหม่อีก 2 สาขา คือ ที่ เซ็นทรัลเฟสติวัล หาดใหญ่ กับ เซ็นทรัลเฟสติวัล เชียงใหม่ ในปลายปี 2556 รวมทั้งสิ้น 15 สาขาในประเทศไทย นอกจากนี้ยังมีสาขาในประเทศจีน อีก 3 สาขา คือ ห้างสรรพสินค้าเซ็นทรัล เมืองหังโจว (ซ่างไท่) เปิดเมื่อวันที่ 1 พฤษภาคม 2553, ห้างสรรพสินค้าเซ็นทรัล เมืองเสิ่นหยาง เปิดเมื่อวันที่ 24 กันยายน 2554, และ ห้างสรรพสินค้าเซ็นทรัล เมืองเฉิงตู (ว่านเซี่ยงเฉิง) เปิดเมื่อวันที่ 29 กันยายน 2555

-Implement buying and merchandising plans, policies, and directions to monitor the operations of buyers in identifying and negotiating products with suppliers to ensure effective price and achieve business objectives and profitability
-Monitor and manage research and assessment of supplier’s products to ensure compliance with specifications and organization’s quality standards
-Monitor and follow up supplier bids, tenders, and proposals to support and ensure effective negotiation for prices and delivery conditions
-Evaluate sales, promotional campaigns, and other opportunities to secure reduced prices
-Monitor and participate in purchasing with terms of organizational best interest to support buying and merchandising, and business operations effectively
-Monitor and manage analysis of inventory requests, production schedules, purchase requisitions, orders, and relevant documents to ensure purchasing activities with demand for goods
-Track quality and timeline of goods supplied and status of purchase orders with vendors to ensure proper delivery
-Communicate and coordinate with internal customers, vendors, inventory, and relevant functions to ensure effective purchasing
